The MC451 Dual Mono Amplifier is an unconventional amplifier that delivers a stunning sound experience.

Designed with bi-amping loudspeakers in mind, the MC451 is comprised of a 150 Watt vacuum tube amplifier and 300 Watt solid state amplifier.

The vacuum tube section powers midranges and tweeters while the solid state section drives power hungry woofers.

Uses our Hybrid Drive™ technology that combines a separate vacuum tube and solid state amplifier onto one single chassis to produce the best possible sound performance.

The full power is available to almost any speaker regardless if it has 2, 4 or 8 Ohm impedance via our Unity Coupled Circuit output transformer in the vacuum tube section or our Autoformer™ in the solid state section.

The large but quiet toroidal transformer generates enough power so that neither amplifier robs power or performance from the other.

An internal crossover lets you easily adjust the performance of both amplifiers to your listening preferences and speaker specifications.

Includes our DualView™ Power Output Meter that independently displays the real time power reading of each amplifier.

Full of time tested McIntosh technologies including Power Guard®, Power Guard Screen Grid Sensor® (SGS), Sentry Monitor™, Power Control, Solid Cinch™ speaker binding posts, a McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsink™, and Power Management System.
